These Terms of Use explain the rules for using KantinApp. They apply to the KantinApp mobile app, the public website at kantinapp.app, and related services that KantinApp provides to students, staff, and participating schools.
KantinApp is a free school cafeteria service. It helps users view school cafeteria menus, vote on dishes, save favorites, send tips or issue reports, receive optional notifications, and access school-specific news or cafeteria information.
By creating an account, signing in, or using KantinApp, you agree to these Terms. If you use KantinApp through a school, your school's rules and applicable school policies may also apply.
1. The Service
KantinApp provides digital tools for school cafeteria information and feedback. The service may include weekly menus, dish details, prices, allergen and nutrition information, voting, favorites, demand signals, tips, public tip polls, school news, school-change requests, problem reports, account management, and optional push notifications.
Some content is created, configured, or reviewed by school or cafeteria administrators. KantinApp may update, improve, limit, suspend, or remove parts of the service when needed for operation, security, legal compliance, or product development.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
- KantinApp is intended for students and staff at participating upper secondary schools and for authorized school or cafeteria administrators.
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your account details up to date.
- You must use your own account and must not access another person's account without permission.
- You are responsible for keeping your password, Microsoft sign-in, device, and session secure.
- If you believe your account has been misused, contact KantinApp as soon as possible.
3. Acceptable Use
You may use KantinApp only for lawful, school-related, and cafeteria-related purposes. You agree not to misuse the service.
- Do not submit unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise harmful content.
- Do not impersonate another person, misrepresent your school affiliation, or provide false information.
- Do not spam, manipulate votes, interfere with polls, or use automated tools to create artificial activity.
- Do not attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, access controls, school boundaries, or security features.
- Do not probe, scan, attack, scrape, reverse engineer, or disrupt KantinApp except where mandatory law gives you a non-waivable right to do so.
- Do not upload malware or content that could damage KantinApp, users, schools, or third-party systems.
- Do not include unnecessary sensitive personal information about yourself or others in tips, issue reports, or other submissions.
4. User Submissions and Moderation
KantinApp lets users submit tips, issue reports, school-change requests, votes, favorites, poll votes, and other feedback. You are responsible for what you submit.
You keep any rights you have in your own submissions, but you give KantinApp and relevant school or cafeteria administrators a limited right to receive, store, review, display, process, moderate, and use your submissions as needed to operate the service, respond to requests, improve cafeteria planning, and maintain safety and security.
KantinApp or authorized administrators may hide, reject, edit administrative status, close, delete, or decline to publish submissions that appear to violate these Terms, school rules, safety requirements, privacy rights, or applicable law. Public tip polls may be approved, closed, or removed by authorized administrators.
If you believe content was handled incorrectly, or if you need to report misuse, contact kantinapp.support@gmail.com.
6. Notifications
Push notifications are optional. You can control notification settings in the app and through your device settings. Notifications may be delayed, unavailable, duplicated, or not delivered due to device settings, network conditions, third-party infrastructure, or service changes.
7. App Stores and Third-Party Services
If you download KantinApp from the Apple App Store or Google Play, the relevant app store terms also apply to that download, installation, updates, and app-store account relationship.
For iOS downloads, Apple's standard licensed application end user license agreement may apply to the app license unless a separate custom license is provided through Apple's systems. These Terms govern your use of the KantinApp service.
KantinApp may rely on third-party services such as hosting providers, email delivery providers, push notification infrastructure, Microsoft sign-in, analytics, and app-store services. Those services may have their own terms and privacy information.
8. Privacy and Account Deletion
KantinApp processes personal information as described in the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains what information is processed, why it is used, when it may be shared, and what choices you have.
- Privacy Policy: https://kantinapp.app/privacy-policy
- Delete account: https://kantinapp.app/delete-account
9. Intellectual Property
KantinApp, including its software, design, logos, text, graphics, and service structure, is owned by KantinApp or its licensors. You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended school cafeteria purpose.
You may not copy, sell, sublicense, distribute, commercially exploit, or create competing services from KantinApp content or software unless you have written permission or mandatory law gives you a non-waivable right to do so.
10. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using KantinApp at any time. You may request account deletion through the app or the public deletion page.
KantinApp may suspend or restrict access if an account appears to violate these Terms, creates security risk, is used for abuse, is no longer connected to a participating school, or must be restricted for operational or legal reasons. Where appropriate, KantinApp may also contact the relevant school administrator.
11. Availability and Changes
KantinApp aims to provide a reliable service, but availability is not guaranteed. The service may be affected by maintenance, updates, technical faults, network problems, third-party providers, school administration, or events outside KantinApp's control.
KantinApp may update these Terms from time to time. When material changes are made, the updated version will be published with a new last updated date. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Liability
KantinApp is provided free of charge and as available. To the maximum extent permitted by mandatory law, KantinApp is not liable for indirect loss, loss of data, loss of opportunity, school or cafeteria decisions, missed notifications, unavailable menus, or reliance on incomplete food information.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights, remedies, or protections that cannot be limited under applicable mandatory law, including mandatory consumer, student, privacy, or food safety protections.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by Norwegian law, except where mandatory rules require another result. Mandatory consumer and venue rights remain unaffected.
If you have a concern, contact KantinApp first so the issue can be reviewed and, where possible, resolved informally.
